Life Drawings/Brushpen
I've been on a brushpen inking trip lately, so I've taken to doing a lot of it with various brands. These were done with a great Japanese one with two points, and it's really responsive. Drawn last night at class with the great Jennifer Fabos.

Duane Jones
When I was a teenager me and a bunch of my buddies gathered at a friend's house in Honolulu to watch this movie we never heard of called "Night of The Living Dead" on "Night Owl Theater". We didn't know what we were about to see. After the movie was over, we found ourselves cowering on the couch, scared shitless. It was, and still is,
one of the greatest horror movie experiences I've ever had. We were the perfect age to see this, young, impressionable, and completely defenseless. I was already obsessed with monsters, but this kicked my fandom to a whole new level, and it was like nothing we had ever seen. Especially amazing was the lead actor, Duane Jones. The picture he painted of the Zombie apocalypse was more affecting and vivid than actually seeing it, and his performance was absolutely superb. Here is my tribute to the great actor.

The Incredible Hulk
Hi Everyone, today I'm posting just a little quick sketch of the HULK I did just for fun,
while working on a scene. Just taking a break. By the way, I really appreciate all the support that I got during this year's Comicon. It was again a massive blast and tons of fun! Thanks to you all who stopped by and picked up my shiny new sketchbook!

Darkseid vs. Thanos
After seeing The Avengers three times, (so far...) I had to do a piece in tribute. I'm working on a series of mashups between comic characters, and this is the latest. Darkseid vs. Thanos, who's got the bigger shoulders?

Jean Giraud/Moebius 1938-2012
I'm still kinda devastated by the passing of one of my favorite artists of all time, Jean Giraud. I only got to meet him a few times, but each time was memorable. The first time was in the late 80's at the San Diego Comicon ( before the show became this pop culture monster) when it was all about art and comics.I got three skecthes from him which I treasure. I never thought that I would get to meet my idols, but since moving to California from Hawaii, I've pretty much gotten to meet them all. Moebius being at the top of that list along with Frank Frazetta whom I also met at the Con. The last time I got to meet Moebius was at last year's CTN EXPO in Burbank and got watch him sketch for an hour straight. Mind blowing. I'll really miss him, but I'll continue to use his influence and inspiration to keep me going in my efforts to become a better artist.

HulkBoy!
This just came to me one day. I liked the juxtaposition of two characters traits. Since The Hulk is a big oaf and Hellboy is a big oaf, I figgered why not? This was done with watercolor in my regular Stathmore sketchbook whose paper isn't made for wet media, so I had to really push the pigment around to get the color down, so it made this weird mottled effect which I wasn't planning on, but I actually really like. I love happy accidents in art, they give you things you can't plan for.
