More field sketches

Sorry I haven't posted lately, but we've been going crazy here at the Simpsons. We're busy trying to institute a digital animation system and the learning curve is steep! I always make time for real drawing, though...

Great sketches!! Can I ask what type of pens did you use?

Thanks!

Thanks, Guys! I used a japanese brush pen for the inking, and a few Copic warm grey markers.

Great work as usual... can you go more into the new digital workflow at work? Are you guys using Flipbook?

Thanks,
George

We're using Toon Boom's Pencil Check Pro program, and are generating layouts and animation. The weird thing is, is that we have to print the digital work out onto paper for our overseas studio in Korea to finish! I think our producers want to slowly institute a completely digital pipeline eventually, and this is just the first step.

Hey Paul,

I was wondering if you are going to be teaching any life drawing classes in the future. You could get a bunch of students. I remember seeing some of your work at LAAFA and was REALLY impressed. I have been taking classes at the Animation Guild in North Hollywood with Glenn Vilppu. Another great teacher. Hope you say "Yes" I'll sign up!

Hey Paul! I don't know your e-mail, but thanks a hell of a lot for your new sketch in my VERY old 'Girls with Guns' sketchbook! It's an awesome drawing, and great to see how far you've come in 10+ years. Tommy got it back to me and I'm passing it around up here, Ted's got it first. I'm hoping to get Ronnie and Bill Pressing to do a few in there for me. Woo-hoo!
