Nick Fury

I just saw Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, and I thought it was superb. The film ups the ante for superhero movies as far as I'm concerned. It was relevant and timely, especially in a world where lack of trust and the surveillance culture affects everyone. The easter eggs, and nods to many fun stuff was especially pleasurable to see, and the kid in me was geeking out! Once again, the Producers at MARVEL studios have hit a home run. I did this Nick Fury drawing a few years ago when Samuel L. Jackson was cast, and you kinda hire him to play Samuel L. Jackson.

Caricature of Joe Cabot aka Laurence Tierney.

HULK fly!

Here's a drawing I did as a warmup for the day's work. Drawn digitally.

Hellboy sketch

This mornings quick warmup sketch of Hellboy. Inked with a ZIG Calligraphy pen.

Hey Everybody! I'll be exhibiting at the annual CTN EXPO ( Creative Talent Expo) at the Burbank Marriott from tomorrow Nov. 15-17th. I'll be at PAUL WEE ARTWORKS, table T-68, selling my sketchbooks as well as my latest Life Drawing book. C'mon down! It's always a great, fun, and inspiring show! http://www.ctnanimationexpo.com/

It's Carvin' Time!

I freakin' LOVE Halloween, and this year, I wanted to get into sculpting pumpkins. I've never seen anyone do a THING from Fantastic Four, and it seemed like a natural, since he's already orange. I studied sculptor Ray Villafane's instructional videos and dove in to sculpting this weekend. It took me 2 1/2 hours, and required a bit of elbow grease, but I'm really happy with the results! I can't wait to do more.

Ballpoint pen sketches

These are last nights figure drawings. I did these in ballpoint pen to force myself to model the forms the hard way, as opposed to the brushpen which I can achieve different effects with just a sweep of the brush.
